This week was pretty uneventful. We sat through meetings practically all week, so I don’t have much to report. We did have a little proselyting time, but not as much because it’s the beginning of the month, and we had a bunch of administrative stuff to do, so this email will be a short one.
At the end of the week, we did find a new investigator! His name is Jay and he lives in a trailer park in Bay Point. He’s super cool and really open to learning new things about Christ. He just wants to do what’s right in that regard. We were able to set a baptismal date with him for February, which was neat. He’s really the only investigator we are working with currently. We have two others, but they’ve been MIA for some time, so I don’t have anything to say about them.
For the most part, our missionary efforts in this ward have been retention work since I got here. We just work with the recent converts in the ward and continue to teach them (there’s a total of seven individuals who were baptized since January of last year). They’re almost all really solid and super converted, which is great. We went to a fireside in Oakland last night with Xavier, one of the recent converts. He’s super cool and got baptized three weeks after he met the missionaries.
This week kinda went like this, though:
Monday was P-Day and FHE with the ward.
Tuesday we went to all the District Meetings across the zone (we have to do that once a transfer).
Wednesday we had Mission Leadership Council (MLC), a monthly six-seven hour meeting in Oakland with all of mission leadership to coordinate the work across the mission.
Thursday we had Zone Leadership Council (ZLC), a significantly shorter meeting in which we relay all the info and announcements from MLC down to district leaders in the zone.
Friday we had a multi-zone meeting in Oakland discussing the baptismal goal for 2017, and then we had to gather information from companionships for stake reports.
Saturday we continued with stake reports and did our weekly planning.
Sunday we had church and went to the fireside in Oakland.
That was pretty much how the week went, so I also don’t really have photos to share (sorry, Mom). We kept busy and I’m pretty exhausted.
I love you all! Have a great week!
